DCMA 14-point assessment

How the 14 checks are counted, scored and configured.

The Schedule Health tab runs the DCMA 14-point assessment. Each check reports its threshold, its result, a gauge against the limit, and the activities behind it, which you can download as a CSV.

The 14 DCMA checks, each with its result, threshold and gauge.

How it counts#

DCMA measures the plan that's left, so by default:

  • Checks 1–10 count incomplete activities. Finished work can't be re-planned, so its logic, lags and constraints say nothing about the plan that remains.
  • Relationships count when their successor is still open. A link into finished work no longer drives anything.
  • Level-of-effort and WBS summary activities are left out of the structural checks.
  • Missed activities, BEI and planned value use P6's planned dates. When the export doesn't carry a separate baseline, the planned dates are the usual stand-in, and the app says so.

The score#

The health score is the checks passed as a share of the checks passed or failed. Checks that don't apply, such as CPLI when there's no data date, and checks you've switched off, are left out of it. The demo programme scores 57%.

Settings#

An administrator can change, under Administration → Health checks:

  • The counting basis: incomplete work (DCMA) or every activity, for comparison with tools that count that way.
  • The hard-constraint list: the DCMA list, or only Mandatory Start and Mandatory Finish.
  • Each check's threshold.
  • Which checks count towards the score. A check left out still shows, marked off.

The high-float and high-duration limits, 44 working days by default, and the lag threshold are analysis settings on the dashboard.
